OhioKAN is a 100% free program available to all kinship and adoptive families in Ohio. We want you to know exactly what it is like to connect and work with us. Learn more about our process and the OhioKAN experience.
THE OHIOKAN PROCESS
STEP 1
One-on-One Conversation
You will have a direct conversation with an OhioKAN Navigator, who is there for you to answer questions and listen to your needs.
STEP 2
OhioKAN BASICS
If we decide together that OhioKAN can help your family, we will walk through a series of questions we call the BASICS. This is to make sure we get a full understanding of your situation.
STEP 3
Resource Review
Based on your specific needs, goals, and location, the Navigator will identify the most useful and relevant resources from thousands of resources statewide.
STEP 4
Taking Action, Together
Your Navigator will work with you to come up with a plan of action, and you’ll then be able to track down the referred resources on your own or have your Navigator help you directly apply for each service!
STEP 5
Ongoing
Support
Your Navigator will continue to be available to you after your initial request in case anything else comes up. We will follow up to ensure you are getting what you need and will be available for ongoing support for as long as you want!
